The Town of Walworth announced that its scheduled budget workshop for Monday was canceled due to a family emergency. Officials say the next workshop is now set for Monday, November 3. The meeting is part of the town’s annual budget planning process and will resume next week as scheduled.
Separately, the Town of Walworth is preparing for a major transition in how sewer services are billed.
Starting January 2026, the Wayne County Water and Sewer Authority will take over billing for quarterly sewer services as it begins operation of a new regional wastewater treatment facility. This change will mark the official dissolution of the Walworth Sewer Department.
In preparation, credit card payments for sewer bills will no longer be accepted after November 4, 2025. Town officials say the existing sewer collection account must be closed and reconciled by December 31, 2025, to ensure a smooth handoff of operations.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for the change and consider alternative payment methods for any remaining 2025 bills.
