Drivers in the Town of Throop should prepare for a detour starting next week as crews begin repair work on a local bridge.
Town Supervisor Eric Ridley announced late Wednesday that the bridge on Turnpike Road, just west of State Street Road, will close temporarily starting Monday, October 27. The closure is expected to last about two weeks, according to Cayuga County officials.
Ridley said drivers should follow marked detour signs and plan ahead to avoid delays. More updates will be provided as the project moves forward.
The town has not said what specific repairs are being made.
