Families in the Bath Central School District will soon have easier access to dental care for their children thanks to a new $25,000 grant.
Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH) received the funding from the RCIPA Community Health & Education Foundation to expand its School-Based Dental Program. The money will be used to install dental equipment directly in Bath district schools and provide exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and X-rays during the school day.
“This funding makes it possible for us to purchase the dental equipment we need,” said FLCH CEO Mary Zelazny. “We’re deeply grateful to RCIPA for helping highlight the importance of early dental care for children.”
Students needing additional treatment will be referred to an FLCH health center or their regular dentist, removing scheduling and transportation barriers for families.
FLCH currently brings in-school dental care to 74 schools across the Finger Lakes region. To learn more or register a student, visit: http://bit.ly/4o2LPca
