The Livingston County Department of Health is rolling out a new public service campaign to fight opioid misuse and reduce stigma around addiction.
The initiative launched October 21 and features real recovery stories, educational messaging, and mental health resources. It’s a joint effort with Trellis Marketing and the New York State Association of Counties.
“We want people to understand the dangers of recreational drug use and feel empowered to seek help,” said Public Health Director Jennifer Rodriguez. “This campaign is about education, connection, and hope.”
The multimedia campaign will run through 2026, sharing PSAs across multiple platforms. It builds on a statewide effort started in 2018 by the NYS Coroners Association after a spike in overdose deaths.
NYSAC Executive Director Steve Acquario praised Livingston County’s leadership, calling opioid use disorder “every county’s most urgent issue.”
