The Seneca County Water-Sewer Authority (WSA) Board of Directors will hold a special meeting on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the County Office Building’s Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in Waterloo.
The agenda includes a packed lineup of important topics, from insurance requirements to finalizing the Authority’s first full-year operating budget.
What’s on the agenda?
- FY2026 Budget Approval: The proposed $256,000 budget includes $250,000 in county support and plans for administrative costs, legal consulting, grant writing, and insurance. The budget leaves a projected $24,275 in year-end cash and focuses on early-stage planning efforts for future infrastructure projects.
- Insurance Engagement Discussion: Consultant Matt Horn from MRB Group will brief the board on ongoing discussions with Eastern Shore Brokerage and present elements of a proposed insurance application process, including protections like dual authorization for transfers and computerized inventory tracking.
- Meeting Schedule Adjustments: With the regular November board meeting set to fall on a federal holiday, board members will discuss a new meeting date.
- Executive Session: The board may enter executive session to discuss matters related to appointing a particular person or corporation.
- Other Updates: Executive Director Dan Schmalzel will provide a status update, and the board will discuss next steps, including action items and timelines ahead of the rescheduled November meeting.
Community members interested in water and sewer developments across Seneca County are welcome to attend.
