Someone in Penn Yan is holding a winning lottery ticket worth nearly $10,000.
The New York Lottery announced that a top-prize Take 5 ticket from the October 17 midday drawing was sold at Penn Yan Express Stop on North Avenue. The ticket is worth $9,696.
Another ticket with the same prize amount was sold in Woodside, Queens.
Take 5 drawings happen twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with numbers drawn from a field of 1 through 39. Winners have up to a year to claim their prize.
