Manchester man charged after fentanyl found during traffic stop

A routine traffic stop in the Town of Manchester led to the arrest of a local man on drug charges earlier this week.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Elijah Z. Moore of Manchester was arrested on October 15 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies say Moore was stopped on North Main Street and, upon exiting the vehicle, was found to have a white, rock-like substance in his front pants pocket. A field test later confirmed the substance was fentanyl.

Moore was taken into custody without incident and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Manchester Town Court at a later date.

The case was investigated by Deputy Rychlicki and Deputy Burke.
