A year after Geneva Movieplex 8 shut its doors, talks are underway to possibly bring movies back, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Bob Ohmann, owner of Lyons’ Ohmann Theater, confirmed he’s been in contact with plaza managers and made an offer to take over the shuttered cinema. But the building’s in rough shape — with major repairs needed and high past rent costs — and discussions have stalled.
Ohmann says he’d love to reopen it for the community, but with streaming dominating and the movie business shrinking, the math might not work.
