Ontario County District Attorney Jim Ritts officially retired Friday after a 36-year legal career.
Ritts, who lost the June primary amid scrutiny over workplace conduct, said the decision was personal and not tied to the election. His name will still appear on the November ballot, but he won’t return if elected.
First Assistant DA Kelly Wolford now serves as interim DA — the first woman to hold the role in county history.
