Seneca County eyes new highway facility

Seneca County is taking its first step toward replacing a nearly century-old highway barn, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Supervisors are expected to approve a $24,000 feasibility study next week with engineering firm Barton & Loguidice. The current Romulus facility, built in 1929 and expanded several times, can no longer accommodate today’s larger trucks or equipment.

Chairman Mike Enslow said no construction is guaranteed yet, but the county is serious about modernizing aging infrastructure and planning for the future — including a long-discussed Mental Health building.
