Despite the political clash, a KFF poll shows 59% of Republicans want to extend the subsidies. Eric Linzer of the New York Health Plan Association warned ending them would hit New Yorkers hard, raising premiums and reducing coverage.
The funding fight adds pressure to already tense budget negotiations in Washington.
