Palmyra man charged with DWI after traffic stop

A late-night traffic stop in Palmyra led to DWI charges for a local man after deputies say his blood alcohol content nearly doubled the legal limit.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Nathan W. Goodness around 10 p.m. on Sept. 27 after pulling him over on Hogback Hill Road.

Deputies say field sobriety tests at the scene showed signs of impairment. A breath test later recorded a BAC of 0.15%. Goodness was charged with DWI and driving with a BAC over 0.08%.

He was also ticketed for refusing a roadside breath test, unsafe tires, an improper bumper, broken windshield glass, and having an open container in the vehicle.

Goodness was released on traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Town Court.
