NY lawmaker pushes ICE face-covering ban

After California banned masked law enforcement, New York Sen. Pat Fahy is pushing a similar move, according to Spectrum News.

Fahy’s MELT Act would bar ICE agents from wearing face coverings or plainclothes during immigration actions in the state. She says it’s about transparency—especially after $75 billion in new federal funding expanded ICE operations.

The Trump administration calls the effort unconstitutional, but Fahy says legal challenges are expected.
