A transgender athlete is suing SUNY Geneseo and the NCAA after being barred from a women’s track event, according to Spectrum News.
The athlete says she was blocked from competing in the women’s 200m and 400m races at Geneseo’s public invitational in March. The school cited a new NCAA policy, issued after a Trump executive order, that limits women’s events to those assigned female at birth.
Filed under New York’s Human Rights Law, the lawsuit seeks damages for emotional distress. SUNY Geneseo declined to comment.
