Seneca County residents will have a chance to get up to speed on New York’s latest gun laws at a free informational session this fall.
Sheriff Timothy J. Thompson Jr. is inviting the public to a Gun Law Update on Saturday, November 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center in Romulus.
The event will cover:
- Recent changes to gun laws
- Pistol permit application and renewal process
- Best practices during police encounters while legally armed
- Updated hunting regulations
- A Q&A with local firearms dealers
The session is open to all Seneca County residents 18 and older. Anyone under 18 may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Due to space limits, attendees must register in advance.
To sign up, contact Confidential Assistant Ashley Denmark at [email protected] or call (315) 220-3403.
The law enforcement center is located at 6150 Route 96, Romulus. Visitors are asked to park in the designated lot and enter through the main lobby.
“We look forward to connecting with the community while providing this critically important information,” said Sheriff Thompson. “We recognize that it can be difficult to keep up with the law changes and hope that this event will prove to be helpful for those that we serve.”
