An elderly woman trapped in a basement was rescued during an overnight house fire in Syracuse, according to CNY Central.
The blaze broke out after midnight on Albert Road, prompting a response from over 30 fire personnel. Two residents escaped, but firefighters found the woman in the basement and safely got her out. She was alert and taken to the hospital.
Two firefighters were treated for exhaustion but are expected to recover quickly.
