Yates County Sheriff’s Office earns reaccreditation honor

A quiet moment of recognition turned into a proud milestone for the Yates County Sheriff’s Office this week.

The department officially received its reaccreditation from the New York State Sheriff’s Association during a full legislative meeting. The plaque was presented by Executive Director Peter Kehoe, who also handed out individual certificates to key staff.

Sheriff Frank Ryan and Undersheriff Brandon Jensen accepted the honor on behalf of the agency. Civil Clerk Jean Hubbel-Lenton, Lieutenant Kevin Campbell, and Sergeant Chad Daggett also received certificates. Deputy Chad Betts was acknowledged but missed the event due to a scheduled training.

The reaccreditation reflects the office’s continued commitment to meeting the state’s rigorous law enforcement standards. In a statement, the department thanked its team for the work required to maintain that high bar.

The office also recognized support from the Yates County Legislature, Chairperson Leslie Church, and County Administrator Jessica Mullins.
