Family pushes for justice after inmate death

The mother of Adam Lafferty plans to continue his civil rights case and pursue a wrongful death suit, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Lafferty was found strangled in his cell at Five Points Correctional Facility in December. His cellmate, Kevin Farley, now faces first-degree murder charges. Lafferty had warned a federal judge the night before his death that he feared being killed, allegedly after a guard labeled him a snitch.

Prosecutors say no one else is criminally liable so far, but the investigation remains open.
