Syracuse women’s soccer earned its third consecutive shutout with a 3-0 win over Cornell on Sunday at SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange improved to 4-1-3 on the season, while the Big Red dropped to 2-2-2.

Gabby Wisbeck opened the scoring in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a deflected pass inside the box. Syracuse extended the lead early in the second half when Anna Rupert collected her own rebound and buried her first goal of the year. Just 24 seconds later, Mia Klammer finished off a quick counterattack for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch made four saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season, and third in a row, surpassing her previous single-season career high.
Syracuse controlled the match with a 15-4 edge in total shots and 11-4 in shots on target.
Syracuse remains unbeaten at home all-time vs. Cornell (7-0-3) and leads the overall series 11-2-3.
Next, the Orange continue their homestand against Southern Methodist on Thursday, September 11, at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, that same day, the Big Red will be on the road to take on Providence at 7 p.m.
