Elmira apartment faces power shutoff over $319K debt

Residents at Woodlawn Court in Elmira may lose electricity by Sept. 23 if landlords don’t pay over $319,000 in overdue bills, according to WETM.

NYSEG posted shutoff notices on every door Friday. This is the complex’s second utility threat in a year. Management says it has already paid $700,000 and blames rising costs and billing penalties, but promises to prevent a shutoff with help from state and local leaders.

Tenants with concerns are urged to contact NYSEG directly.
