Danielle Ponder to open Canandaigua lecture series

Soul artist and former public defender Danielle Ponder will kick off the George M. Ewing Canandaigua Forum’s 14th season on Sept. 21, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

Ponder, known for leaving law to pursue music, will speak on reinvention and purpose in a talk titled “From Law to Lyrics.” The event takes place at Fort Hill Performing Arts Center, with WXXI’s Evan Dawson moderating.

This season honors the late George Ewing Jr. and features speakers like environmental journalist Dan Egan, retired Lt. Col. Amy McGrath, and healthcare advocate Wendell Potter in future events.
