Just days after a serious car crash, Rudy Giuliani is getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom, according to the Associated Press.
President Trump announced the award Monday, calling Giuliani a patriot and the “greatest Mayor” in New York’s history. Giuliani is recovering from a fractured vertebra after the crash in New Hampshire, where he was riding in a Ford Bronco.
The honor comes despite Giuliani’s mounting legal troubles. He’s been disbarred, hit with a $148 million defamation judgment, and criminally charged in two states for trying to overturn the 2020 election.
