A traffic stop in Sennett led to a DWI arrest after deputies say a driver failed to use a turn signal properly and was found to be intoxicated.
Mario M. Baltazar, 38, was pulled over just after 10 p.m. on August 16 after deputies spotted his red sedan making an unsafe turn from East Genesee Street Road onto Swamp Road.
Deputies were already on the scene of a separate crash nearby when they noticed Baltazar’s vehicle. During the stop, they determined he was intoxicated. A breath test later showed a blood alcohol content of 0.18%, more than twice the legal limit.
Baltazar was charged with first-offense DWI and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors. He also received tickets for several traffic violations, including failure to signal, unsafe lane movement, and having alcohol in the vehicle.
