Protest concerns cancel Ithaca housing panel

A housing policy event featuring Rep. Josh Riley and local lawmakers was canceled last minute due to safety concerns over protest threats, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The panel, organized by the Tompkins Chamber, was set for Thursday at Ithaca College. Protesters had targeted Riley online over his support for Israel, with one widely shared post using violent imagery. Organizers said the posts raised fears of possible disruptions.

No direct threats were confirmed, and none of the panelists requested the cancellation. A new date hasn’t been announced.
