A local housing nonprofit is buying a rundown duplex on Barber Street to help revive a struggling neighborhood, according to The Citizen.
The Auburn Housing Authority’s development arm will pay $24,010 for the foreclosed two-family home at 7-9 Barber St., aiming to renovate and resell it. It’s the second rehab project on the block, following similar work at 20 Barber St.
Leaders say the goal is to spark private investment and show residents the city is committed to long-term neighborhood improvements.
