Bath woman arrested after officers assaulted at DSS office

A Bath woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking officers during a disturbance at the Steuben County Department of Social Services.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Blair Devine was arrested on August 15 after deputies responded to reports of a disorderly person inside the DSS lobby at the county office building in Bath.

Deputies say Devine engaged in disruptive behavior, then struck and kicked two officers during the incident, injuring both. The officers were treated and released from a local medical facility.

Devine is charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony, as well as resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

She was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
