Planned Parenthood braces for Medicaid funding fight

Planned Parenthood clinics in Central and Western New York are still seeing Medicaid patients for free, despite a federal push to cut funding, according to Spectrum News 1.

Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” barred Medicaid reimbursements to clinics that provide abortion services. A judge temporarily blocked the measure, but Planned Parenthood says the future of that funding is still uncertain.

Over half their patients rely on Medicaid, and staff say the cuts aren’t about saving money — they’re about limiting access.
