The Town of Victor has filed a court petition to acquire the long-vacant Lord & Taylor building at Eastview Mall through eminent domain, aiming to revitalize the area and boost the local economy.
Closed since 2021, the property has been tied up in legal disputes, but courts have upheld the town’s right to seize it for public benefit. Redevelopment goals include attracting foot traffic, creating jobs, and possibly building a hotel.
Mall owner Wilmorite supports the move, while the property’s current owner, HBC Victor, has not commented.
