A Lewis County man is facing felony charges after an investigation uncovered child sexual exploitation material shared online.
New York State Police arrested Tyler J. Chereshnoski, 21, of Copenhagen, NY, on August 13, following the execution of a search warrant related to an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation.
Chereshnoski was charged with:
- Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (Class D felony)
- Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child (Class E felony)
State Police say the charges stem from the online transmission of child sexual exploitation content. The investigation was a joint effort involving the State Police Computer Crime Unit – Troop D, the Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation – Lowville, the ICAC Unit in Albany, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Chereshnoski was arraigned in Town of Denmark Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on September 3 at 4:30 p.m.
