Waterloo man faces felony DWI charge after previous conviction

A Waterloo man faces a felony DWI charge after police say a routine traffic stop revealed he was intoxicated.

The Waterloo Police Department says Jeffrey C. Christopher, 42, was stopped on August 7 around 5 p.m. for driving an uninspected vehicle. Officers say further investigation determined he was intoxicated, and because of a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, the charge was elevated to a felony.

Police say Christopher was also ticketed for operating with an open container, driving without his mandated interlock device, and having an uninspected vehicle. He was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
