Corey Heim wins Watkins Glen Truck Series in triple-overtime thriller

Corey Heim added another chapter to his dominant NASCAR Truck Series season, winning at Watkins Glen in triple overtime for his fourth straight road course triumph. The Tricon Garage driver, already crowned regular season champion, collected his sixth win of the year despite fuel concerns and late-race challenges.

Starting from the pole, Heim led 44 laps but faced adversity in the final stage when a mistake through the bus stop chicane earned him a stop-and-go penalty, dropping him into the top 10. He steadily fought back, surviving multiple overtime restarts and intense pressure from Daniel Hemric, a former Cup Series driver, to reclaim the lead and secure the win.

The race featured an elite lineup, including Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, Chris Buescher, and rising star Connor Zilisch.

The victory also marks Heim’s second consecutive win from the pole, breaking a stretch earlier in the year where strong qualifying efforts didn’t translate into wins.

With consistent performances and playoff points stacking up, the 22-year-old remains a serious contender for the championship finale in Phoenix this November.
