A woman from Watkins Glen has been charged with identity theft and grand larceny after allegedly using stolen credit card information to make thousands of dollars in online purchases.
Jessica L. McClain was arrested August 5 by Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators. Authorities say McClain used another individual’s credit card information without their knowledge or consent, racking up more than $3,000 in unauthorized charges.
McClain was processed at the Seneca County Jail and later released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court to answer to the charges of identity theft in the first degree and grand larceny in the third degree.
The investigation remains open. Officials are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim in a similar case involving McClain to contact Investigator Jarrod Surine at 315-220-3445 or [email protected].
