Clifton Springs man faces felony charge for violating court order

A Clifton Springs man was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after allegedly violating a family court order of protection.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Michael A. Carr on East Main Street around 3 p.m., according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Carr violated a protection order issued by Ontario County Family Court. Because of a prior qualifying conviction, he was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and aggravated family offense.

Carr was transported to the Ontario County Jail and held for arraignment.
