RG&E fixing autopay glitch after vendor switch

RG&E is addressing a technical issue that affected customers enrolled in autopay, according to WROC. The problem stems from a federally mandated switch to a new payment vendor.

The utility is locking down impacted accounts and says no service disruptions will occur. Customers who received a final termination notice are urged to call RG&E directly at 800-743-2110.

Officials remind the public that RG&E will never call to request payments over the phone.
