A surprise celebration at Lyons Central School honored a teacher known for transforming young lives. According to the Wayne Times, Erica Gansz received the Educator’s Inspiring a Generation Award from New York State during a school ceremony packed with cheering students, colleagues, and family.
Gansz, a history and leadership teacher, was nominated by Superintendent Dr. Barr for her commitment to creating a supportive and empowering school culture. Her classes lead community events and service projects that build empathy and confidence.
The award recognized not just her teaching, but the way she models leadership with grace and integrity. Gansz, a Lyons graduate herself, said she’s proud to teach and raise her family in the community that shaped her.
