Kenneth Chesebro, a key figure in the 2020 fake elector scheme to keep Donald Trump in power, has been officially disbarred in New York, according to Politico. A state appeals court cited his 2023 conviction in Georgia as grounds for the decision.
Chesebro admitted to helping organize fraudulent slates of pro-Trump electors from multiple states. The court said his actions undermined democracy and betrayed his oath as a lawyer. His suspension began in October 2024, but Thursday’s ruling makes the disbarment permanent.
He has also cooperated in investigations in Georgia and Arizona, and still faces charges in Wisconsin. The court criticized his dismissive attitude, especially given his legal expertise. Chesebro has not commented publicly on the ruling.
