A juvenile has been charged with assault after a violent altercation at the Shortsville Fireman’s Carnival left a security worker seriously injured, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a disturbance at the event on Water Street in the Town of Manchester on June 21. Following an investigation, they determined that a juvenile male was the primary aggressor in the incident.
Authorities said the teen struck the victim in the face multiple times with closed fists. The victim, who was working security at the time, sustained serious physical injuries.
The juvenile was arrested on June 25 and charged with assault in the second degree. He was arraigned in Ontario County Court. Deputies noted the investigation remains active, with additional arrests possible.
