Bath man charged with burglary and sex offenses

A Bath man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly entering a residence without permission and making unwanted physical contact with a woman, according to New York State Police.

Troopers from SP Bath arrested 48-year-old Loren R. Hill on June 18 following an investigation into the incident, which occurred at a private residence in the town of Bath. Police said Hill entered a room without consent, damaged the door, and inappropriately touched a female occupant. He had reportedly been previously warned to stay off the property.


Hill was charged with burglary in the second degree – sexually motivated (C felony), sexual abuse in the second degree (A misdemeanor), forcible touching (A misdemeanor), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree (A misdemeanor), and criminal mischief in the fourth degree (A misdemeanor).

He was processed at SP Bath and taken to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment. Authorities also issued an order of protection for the victim.
