A Seneca Falls woman was taken into custody after she allegedly tried to break into a residence and threatened physical harm in front of her children, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Cherie E Smith, 35, was arrested on June 26 at approximately 11:02 a.m. and charged with harassment in the 2nd degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say the charges stem from an incident that occurred the same day, when Smith allegedly arrived at the victim’s residence, attempted to break down the door, and made threats while her two children were present.
Smith was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment. Authorities also requested an order of protection on behalf of the victim.
