An Ovid man is facing a DWI charge after allegedly failing to yield at a stop sign and nearly causing a crash, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested David Jackson, 81, on June 25 after stopping his vehicle in the Town of Ovid. The stop followed an incident in which Jackson reportedly failed to yield the right of way.
During the investigation, deputies determined Jackson was driving while intoxicated. He was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, where he submitted to a chemical breath test and registered a .09% blood alcohol content.
Jackson was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charge in Ovid Town Court at a later date.
The New York State Police assisted at the scene.
