A Bath couple was arrested after their dog died from being left outside in extreme heat.
Police say Theodore Furia, 35, and Nicole Wandell, 31, failed to provide water or shelter, leading to the dog’s death on their lawn.
Animal control contacted authorities after discovering the dog showing signs of heat exhaustion. By the time officers arrived, the dog had already died. The pair face charges including failure to provide proper sustenance and inadequate shelter.
They were released with court appearance tickets and are due in Bath Village Court at a later date.
