Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ronald Acuña Jr. surge in latest All-Star voting update; Judge, Ohtani maintain top spots

With just days remaining in Phase 1 of 2025 MLB All-Star Game voting, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays and Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves are making late pushes up the leaderboard, while Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani remain atop their respective leagues.

Guerrero has overtaken Yankees first baseman Paul Goldschmidt in American League voting, collecting 1,192,604 votes to lead the position. The four-time All-Star seeks his fourth fan-elected start, which would tie the Blue Jays franchise record. Goldschmidt, who previously earned three fan elections in the NL, remains close behind with 1,118,501 votes.

In the National League, Acuña has climbed to fourth among outfielders with 1,140,061 votes, trailing only Cubs breakout Pete Crow-Armstrong (2,005,630), Dodgers slugger Teoscar Hernández (1,366,537), and Cubs veteran Kyle Tucker (1,219,866). Acuña is aiming for his fifth career fan election, which would tie Braves legends Hank Aaron and Dale Murphy.

Aaron Judge continues to lead all vote-getters with nearly 2.7 million ballots cast. If the Yankees outfielder finishes Phase 1 on top, he will bypass the second round and earn his seventh fan-elected start automatically. In the NL, Ohtani leads with over 2.5 million votes as he looks to extend his record to five straight fan elections at designated hitter—this time in a Dodgers uniform.

Other AL highlights include:

  • Cal Raleigh (Mariners) leads AL catchers with over 1.9 million votes.
  • Jacob Wilson (Athletics) remains the top AL shortstop, with a chance to become the first rookie shortstop ever elected by fans.
  • Gleyber Torres (Tigers) paces second basemen in a tight race with Jackson Holliday (Orioles) and José Altuve (Astros).
  • José Ramírez (Guardians) holds a commanding lead at third base.
  • Ryan O’Hearn (Orioles) leads DH voting, fending off challenges from Ben Rice (Yankees) and Brent Rooker (A’s).

In the NL:

  • Will Smith (Dodgers) dominates NL catcher voting with over 2 million votes.
  • Freddie Freeman (Dodgers) leads at first base, ahead of Mets slugger Pete Alonso.
  • Francisco Lindor (Mets) continues to lead a stacked shortstop field.
  • Manny Machado (Padres) remains in front at third base.
  • Ketel Marte (D-backs) holds the top spot at second base as he seeks a third fan-elected start.

Voting for Phase 1 concludes Thursday at noon ET. The top two vote-getters at each position—and top six outfielders—will advance to Phase 2, unless they are the overall vote leader in their league, which earns an automatic start.
