Dryden clinic closure leaves care gap

A 70-year-old hometown clinic is shutting its doors, forcing patients to rethink how they get basic care, according to The Ithaca Voice. Cayuga Primary Care Dryden will close May 1, with services moving to Ithaca and Cortland.

Health officials say staffing shortages and an aging building drove the decision after the practice joined Centralus Health. Many patients say they found out late and now face longer, harder trips—especially without a car.

Local leaders are scrambling for solutions. Family Health Network of Central New York plans to send a mobile clinic to Dryden for trial visits, with hopes of expanding if demand grows.
