Final SSDI Payment for June Depositing Now — Who Gets $48 Increase?

Social Security Administration

Millions of Americans receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) will see their final June payment land this week. If you haven’t gotten your check yet, it’s likely on the way — and for some recipients, the last round of June deposits is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) distributes SSDI checks based on your birth date, the date you began receiving benefits, and whether you also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Below is a breakdown of the June 2025 SSDI payment schedule — and how you can know when your money will arrive.

SSDI Payment Schedule: Who Gets Paid and When?

SSDI benefits are sent out in waves each month. Here’s how the SSA determines your payment date:

If You’ve Received SSDI Since May 1997 or Earlier — Or Also Receive SSI

  • Your payment date: June 3
  • You’re part of the early group that gets paid on the 3rd of every month.
  • If you also get SSI, those checks are usually issued on the 1st of the month.

If You Started SSDI After May 1997 — Payment Based on Birth Date

Birthday Falls BetweenPayment Date (June 2025)
1st – 10thWednesday, June 11
11th – 20thWednesday, June 18
21st – 31stWednesday, June 25

So if your birthday falls between June 21 and June 31, your check is scheduled to hit on Wednesday, June 25, marking the final SSDI payment of the month.

How Much Is the SSDI Check in June?

Thanks to the 2025 Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA), all SSDI payments have been increased by 2.5%. That equates to about $48 more per month for the average SSDI recipient. Your specific increase may vary based on your income, length of time receiving benefits, and whether you receive additional forms of Social Security.

You should have received a COLA notice from the SSA back in December outlining the exact adjustment to your benefits.

Missed a Payment? Here’s What to Do

If your SSDI payment hasn’t arrived by its expected date:

  • Wait three mailing days past the payment date.
  • Then contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or visit ssa.gov.

What About SSI Payments?

SSI payments for June were issued on June 1. For those who qualify for both SSI and SSDI, the two payments are typically split — with SSI paid on the 1st and SSDI on the 3rd.
