A 13-year-old in Waterloo was arrested after a two-year campaign of stalking and harassment that escalated into an online threat of physical harm.
According to the Waterloo Police Department, the juvenile—whose name is being withheld due to age—was charged with fourth-degree stalking and second-degree aggravated harassment on June 18 at around 10:30 p.m.
The charges stem from a series of incidents beginning in 2023 and continuing through this month. Police say the juvenile repeatedly followed the victim and used multiple forms of communication, causing “material harm to the mental and emotional health” of the victim. Despite being told to stop, the juvenile allegedly posted a social media threat shortly afterward.
The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and is expected to report to the Seneca County Probation Department at a later date.
