Several Section V teams battled for state titles on Saturday, with three Wayne-Finger Lakes programs emerging as champions.

Class C State Championship

The Bombers captured their first-ever state title with a dominant victory over the Tigers behind another brillant outing in the circle from senior Ashlyn Wright, who fired a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts and added four hits and five RBI at the plate. Sydney Falsone finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored and a two-run triple, while Calla McCombs added two hits and a triple. Brianna Leitten, Abby OβBrien, and Marlee Poole contributed to the offensive outburst with key hits for Bloomfield, who scored in each of the first five innings.
BOYS LACROSSE
Class B State Championship
Canandaigua (19-3) 5
Garden City (17-2) 14
The Gray Wolves scored all five of its goals in the second half after trailing 12-0 at halftime.
Class D State Championship
Penn Yan (21-2) 11
Chenango Forks 8
The Mustangs rallied to claim their second-ever state championship, overcoming a four-goal deficit in the third quarter and dominating the second half with a 9-3 surge, including a 4-1 edge in the final frame. Teagan Fingar led the charge with a standout performance, netting seven goals and adding two assists. Tucker Fisher and Braden Fingar each chipped in with two goals to help seal the comeback victory over the Blue Devils.
