A year after closing its doors, Wells College has solidified a legacy agreement with Hobart and William Smith Colleges, according to WSYR. The arrangement ensures key pieces of Wells’ history—including archives and the iconic Minerva statue—will be preserved on HWS’s Geneva campus.
HWS will rename a campus lawn “Wells Green,” oversee alumni engagement, manage the Wells endowment, and house the Wells Book Arts Center. Two Wells-affiliated members will also join the HWS Board of Trustees, maintaining community ties.
Philanthropist Fiona Morgan Fein ’65 has pledged a $100,000 challenge gift to support the long-term stewardship of Wells’ legacy.
