New York State Police are investigating a crash involving a multi-passenger van and a tractor-trailer that injured 15 people Thursday morning in Onondaga County.
The crash happened at approximately 11:11 a.m. on Interstate 90 eastbound near the Exit 36 off-ramp in the town of Salina. According to police, the 15-passenger van was traveling east when it missed the ramp, slowed down, and attempted to merge over—when it was struck from behind by the tractor-trailer.
All 15 occupants of the van were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were not injured.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
