The Livingston County Highway Department will launch a sweeping series of road and bridge projects this summer, aiming to improve more than 50 miles of infrastructure across the county.

The 2025 plan includes 18.5 miles of full road rehabilitation and 32 miles of chip seal treatments, with work stretching from Conesus to Nunda. The county will also focus on multiple bridge and culvert replacements.

Major work includes full-depth recycling on Begole Road in Mount Morris, final paving on Linwood and Walker Roads in York, and hot-in-place recycling on four miles of Presbyterian Road in West Sparta. Stagecoach Road in Conesus and Sparta is also scheduled for a full mill and paver overlay.

“I’d like to remind residents to stay alert and use caution when driving through work zones this summer,” said Superintendent of Highways Jason Wolfanger. “These investments in our bridges and roadways are important, but so is the safety of the men and women making it happen.”

Chip seal work is planned for Long Point Road in Geneseo, Carney Hollow Road in Springwater, and River Road in Leicester. Bridge projects include culvert replacement on Carney Hollow Road and rehabilitation work on White Bridge Road and the Gibson Street bridge in North Dansville.

The projects are backed by a mix of local and state funds. Livingston County is contributing $1,615,000, while state programs will add over $3.6 million, including more than $2.3 million from the CHIPS program and over $562,000 from the PAVE-NY Initiative.
