Two Wayne-Finger Lakes boys lacrosse teams are headed to the state championship games after impressive semifinal wins on Wednesday.
In the Class D semifinal, Penn Yan (20-2) rallied from a late third-quarter deficit to defeat previously unbeaten Ogdensburg Free Academy (19-1) of Section X by a score of 17-10.

The victory sends the Mustangs to their first state final since 2018. They will take on Section IV’s Chenango Forks in the championship game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. Penn Yan is seeking its first state title since 2001.
Canandaigua (19-2) delivered a strong performance in the Class B semifinal, defeating Section III’s Christian Brothers Academy-Syracuse (16-4), 17-11.

The Gray Wolves will face Section VIII’s Garden City (16-2) in the title game on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., also at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. This marks Canandaigua’s first trip to the championship since 2022 as they aim for their first state crown since 2009.
